Happy 4th of July!
Here in the United States, today is the celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence from British rule. A summary of the declaration and what it says can be found here.
So here’s a celebration of the flag colors of red, white & blue!

I belated Happy Independence Day to you and yours.
Thanks! I was happy I had the day off to enjoy.
Great choices! Love the pinwheels :-)
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the photos.
One of the best patriotic presentations I’ve seen. Happy 4th of July
Thank you!
Happy 4th you guys!
It was great – hope yours was also.
Where on earth does one find a field of sparkling blue pinwheels?
The Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens does them every April. Each pinwheel represents a child who has been helped by “Prevent Child Abuse – Virginia’s Healthy Families Program”. This year had over 4,000 pinwheels. They’re really pretty, but I wish there weren’t so many. It’s a sad commentary on children & their families.
I am SO glad I asked!!! I just got goosebumps thinking about all those little ones. . .
It’s a sad commentary, but they’re so pretty I couldn’t resist recording them. I did rather gloss over their meaning though.
No, it was a wonderful visual tribute to them, and it does represent so vividly, the meaning of the blue of our flag: vigilance, perseverance & justice. :-)
Wow – I had not looked that up (the meaning of the colors) – thanks for sharing it with me!
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY….I LOVE YOUR PICTURES OF THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE……..THANKS FOR SENDING THEM………..MOM
Thanks Mom!
Happy Fourth of July! I love your Red White and Blue! :)
Thank you! I’m glad you let me know that you liked it.
What kind of flower is that red one? It could be obvious, but I don’t really know much about flowers.
No, it wasn’t obvious at all. The botanical garden usually labels their stuff, but this one was not (I take pictures of the labels for later reference). My research is that it’s a red passion flower. It sure is pretty!
