This week’s photo challenge is “companionable”.  The challenge’s author says,

You might think “companion” refers to a person with whom you share experiences, but the definition is much broader [such as] a person who is frequently in the company of, associates with, or accompanies another; [or] a mate or match for something.

One of the fun things about life is the stories we make together – the things that happened, memories, and laughter.  It’s like that at every stage of our life, from the childhood stories of who best fooled Mom & Dad to stories of stupid things we did as new parents (it’s a good thing babies are not easily broken) to quiet moments where we simply enjoy each other company.  Several years ago I shared a funny story of the year that Santa fooled my in-laws, yet another story that makes family closer.

So during our trip to Maine, another family story got my created when my favorite boy toy announced that he wanted to eat lots and lots of lobster.  It’s much cheaper in Maine than in Virginia, but mostly he just really had a taste for it.

So for breakfast our last morning there, he read the menu and was thrilled to find a lobster omelette on the menu.  But he couldn’t resist some special effects to tell me that he was having lobster for breakfast!

I want lobster! Give me lobster!

I can only imagine the look on my face, because then he does this:

Ha ha ha!
Ha ha ha!

We have so many memories like this, of fun and laughter.  It’s the companionship, the time together, and just having fun.  While this happened on vacation, it could as easily happen at home.  Here is the chef, getting ready to make breakfast for us.

So I’ve shared with you some matching chairs, shared experiences, and the companion who I frequently associate with.  I think I met the challenge and gave ya’ll something to laugh about as well.  And yes, I did ask my favorite boy toy if it was okay to share these photos.  He’s got a great sense of humor and nicely gave permission, after laughing again about showing me what he was having for breakfast that day!
