Spring Flowers

My favorite boy toy and I have been busy working on the house.  So while I’m taking a break from my regularly programmed life, here’s some spring flowers to celebrate the first day of spring.  I took these at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens a few weeks ago.

    • Since I’m shooting in raw, I do some minor adjustments in Lightroom. I looked at the originals and this isn’t too far different than what came straight out of the camera. The crocus always do like bright and shiny though, especially at this time of the year.

    • Thanks for the compliment! That powder puff tree was so unusual. It was inside the greenhouse, so I suspect it’s not native to here. Patti from A New Days Dawns had commented that my pictures in the greenhouse were like dessert and she is so right – they really can cap off an uninspiring landscape when the weather is bad out.

  1. Thank you for this post from Spring! She has fled and left us in ice and snow – but I have high hopes and know she will return – acting as if she had no idea we had been looking for her – silly Spring! smiles K

    • I knew after a mild winter that this would happen. We’ve had snow every week for the last three weeks, including another six inches yesterday. Bummer!

    • We’re having snow every week for the last three weeks. Between yesterday and today, it was another 6 inches. It went up to 41, so it melted pretty quickly, but really?? I want this done!

    • It really does help my mood! While I usually keep my blog and its photos closer in line with what is actually out there, I just couldn’t take more gray, brown, and pale colors. From the comments, I’m not the only one who needed some color for a few minutes!

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • I’m glad you enjoyed the flowers. The house project is going well, but with a lot of frustration. It seems everything we do lately has to be done and redone multiple times.
