The Last Tomatoes Of Summer
Quiet thoughts for today.

The last tomatoes of summer
Ripening slowly, waiting patiently
For the final nip of first frost
Garden autumn first frost garden tomatoes Wordless Wednesday

Beautiful photo. I have always been tempted by those grow bags in the Gardners Supply catalog. Might have to try one out next year.
I’ve been pleased with them. The felt sides help them retain water really good too.
Beautiful post! So lovely…
Thanks Ellen. I’m glad you liked it.
Lovely! I hope when the time comes to eat it, it tastes as good as it looks!
They have been delicious this year. Those soft sided sacks have worked out really well.
The picture of them is about halfway down this post:

Where did you come up with that idea? I’m going to tell my mom about it. Thanks!
I found it in a catalog. There stuff is pricey, but it’s durable and works well.

Tomatoes ARE summer. They will be missed as much if not more than the weather.
You’re right!
For some reason, I really like this picture. Perhaps it reminds me of my childhood on the farm. Mom always had a huge garden with lots of tomotoes well into the fall. It is a feel good picture for me. Thanks Nancy.
Darlene – I feel the same way. I really liked it, but can’t get figure out why. It’s very serene to me, all those partially red tomatoes just waiting out the end of the season. I’m glad you enjoyed it too.
