I think that’s exactly what that finger needs to get the beagle’s attention. Somehow I don’t think my husband will go for it though!

Yep, you got that right. He was so bored with that finger. Frustrates his daddy every time.
Yep, all you have to do is put a hand down and it’s sniffed or licked. I have pugs and they tend to lick!!!
