Watching The City Grow Dark

Today’s small stones observation came as I sat in this conference room for a late afternoon meeting yesterday.   My picture is a shot of a different street during the daylight.

I’m facing east as the sun is setting.  The brown brickwork is warm in the late afternoon sun, but as the minutes pass, it becomes brighter and warmer.  Finally it dims; the sun must have set.  The sky darkens too, from blue to navy and eventually to black.

The lights remain on in each small window.  I don’t see many people, my awareness is simply of many, many windows shining brightly against the darkness of the night.

    • It was a gorgeous night to watch. I’d like to take more pictures with my better camera, but it’s been gray and dreary every day since.

Thanks for the comment! You are always so faithful to stop by and I appreciate it.
