Study – One of My Favorite Places
I’ve had a study in each house that we’ve owned. It’s not always big, but it’s usually stuffed with my bookshelves and a pine desk that my favorite boy toy sanded and finished for me. For nearly 15 years, it was also accompanied by my favorite cat, Siamese #1 (on the left in this picture). He loved to lay on the top ledge and watch me as I wrote in my journals.
He was the best company and he loved me with his whole being. His world revolved around me. Every night I’d come home from work and he’d be waiting by the front door so I’d see him first when I opened it up. One of our homes had two doors I might come in. He’d sit in the middle of the hall, swiveling his head between the two doors until he heard me click the key and then he’d run to the door to greet me.
These days, it’s the miniature pinscher who waits eagerly at the door for me. He’s a good substitute for the cat – he thinks he’s excellent – but it’s not quite the same.

It looks like you have a lovely view out of your window. The cat was cool. Sorry for your loss.
It was a nice view – that was when we lived in Iowa. I miss my babies – can't believe they're all gone.
