Root Growth Under Lights
Once upon a time, my favorite boy toy had an orchid business. Because we lived in the Midwest, he grew them under lights rather than a greenhouse. It was amazing what a healthy root system these babies developed. Of course, it wasn’t just the lights – it was also the humidity, plant food, reverse osmosis water, and on and on. He grew those plants so well! While times were good, he also had a fairly robust customer list. But as I described earlier, the market bottomed out aand he was one of many to get out of orchid sales.

That’s interesting. I guess orchids need tlc.
They didn't need as much as you'd think though – they were actually pretty hardy.
I remember your post re his orchid business. Being from Hawaiia you might think I’d do well with growing orchids. But there’s a definite science to getting them to thrive. Your husband obviously had the “purple thumb.”
wish I could’ve seen his orchids in bloom. :)
He did so well with it – it was too bad the bottom fell out of the market.
