Pardon My Behavior – Again
Pardon (from Wiktionary) – Forgiveness for an offence.
My beagle’s motto is that it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission. This applies to every area of his life, from woo-wooing in the yard to the constant demands to be let in and out, and of course, expecting treats regardless of his behavior.
He does usually get a pardon – who can resist those beagle eyes? So expressive, so warm, so mesmerizing. Of course, by the end of the day it’s worn a little thin, but he still thinks the next pardon will come anyhow.
And notice too the tufts of fur between his toes – this picture really highlights that.

So precious. Reminds me of my dog Mocha, who’s part beagle. Their eyes seem directly linked to their souls, hearts…and minds.
love ’em…hugmamma. ;)
The eyes, the ears, & yes the nose between those tufted paws — how could you not grant a pardon to this guy?
That’s why he keeps getting away with it! He is a good dog though – beagle love is subtle. He won’t crawl in my lap to be cuddled, but he will be with me everywhere I go.
I didn’t know that about beagles. Mocha is part beagle, part terrier, so I’m glad to know that about her “subtle-y” loving me.
Our Vizla is very out there with his love – hence the nickname Velcro boy. In many ways though, I think the beagle loves me more. But it took a while to appreciate that he wasn’t standoffish, he just wasn’t going to be attached to my hip.
